We understand that leaving your cat in a cattery can be a difficult decision. That's why Catopia was created to offer something different - a space designed around comfort, safety, and true understanding of cats.

Our facility features spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed suites, built to support natural feline behaviour. From climbing and stretching to quiet resting and observation, every detail has been created to allow your cat to simply be a cat in a safe and enriched environment.

With years of hands-on experience in feline rescue and care, your cat is in capable, experienced hands. Our facility is fully cat-proofed, and we maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout - because a clean environment is a healthy environment.

Catopia was born from a love of cats and a passion for rescue. We set out to change the standard of traditional catteries - moving away from cages and toward space, care, and respect for each cat's individual needs.

We operate as a Non-Profit Company, with income supporting our rescue work, TNR programmes, and the ongoing care of our rescue cats, and of course expanding and maintaining Catopia.

Located in Waterfall, Durban, our suites are limited and highly sought after and booked well in advance. We will never compromise on quality or space. At Catopia, the wellbeing of our guests always comes before profit - and that is what truly sets us apart.

Your cat is personally cared for by Kim, the owner, with someone always on-site. Every cat is treated as an individual - we take the time to understand their habits, preferences, and behaviour, ensuring they settle in, eat well, and feel safe.

We are attentive to even the smallest changes in health or behaviour, providing a calm, secure, and stress-free environment throughout their stay.

As cat owners ourselves, we understand the concerns that come with placing your cats in a cattery. We encourage this over pet sitting, as cats behave very differently to dogs. That's why we encourage you to visit our facility beforehand, meet us, and see exactly where your cats will be staying.

With 24/7 on-site care, a peaceful environment, and a truly feline-focused approach, Catopia offers a safe and caring home away from home - whether you're travelling, renovating, emigrating, or facing unexpected circumstances.
